Jason Stackhouse's best friend and co-worker on the road crew. Hoyt is said to be friendly. Later in the series he dates Holly Cleary, a waitress from Merlottes, and they become engaged.

In True Blood

Hoyt is still a member of the road crew and Jason's friend. In season 1 he falls in love with Jessica, Bill Compton's, progeny. He and Jessica date on and off through season 4 when they break up. Shortly after the break-up Jason and Jessica have sex causing Hoyt to hate both of them. At the time of the break-up Hoyt and Jessica were living together so he threw her out. As of the beginning of season 5 Hoyt still hates Jason and Jessica.
