Summary
Edit
With Felipe De Castro, the Vampire King of Louisiana (and Arkansas and Nevada) in town, its the worst possible time for a body to show up in Eric Northman's front yard - especially the body of a woman whose blood he just drank. Now it's up to Sookie and Bill, the official Area Five Investigator, to solve the murder. Sookie thinks that, at least this time. the dead girls fate has nothing to do with her. But she is wrong. She has an enemy, one far more devious then she would ever suspect, who's out to make Sookie's world come crashing down.

Writing Process

Spoiler Warning
Author Charlaine Harris wrote on her blog about writing Deadlocked, "While I know where I want to be at the end of each book, I don’t always know how I’m getting there. Sometimes I surprise myself. Last night, Sookie got kidnapped, and I’m going to see how that shakes out. A character I thought was dead is probably alive, and I’m real happy for him. Then again, if the work doesn’t go so well today, he may be dead again. This is the fun (and the panic) of being a writer. Every day brings decisions, and I have the power of life and death and procreation over all these people I’ve invented." [1]
